Construction and Reconfiguration
of an Occupied Space
Landivar & Associates was contracted to construct a compounding pharmacy for Alexandria Medical Arts Compounding Pharmacy in an already existing space. For the project, the owner requested the floor space to be reconfigured to include two administrative offices, bathrooms, a waiting area, a reception area, a compounding laboratory for the production and storage of pharmaceutical drugs, and a clean room. The work integrated approximately 2,103 square feet of space and required mechanical HVAC system reconfigurations, new fire alarms systems, electrical work, and tele/cabling installations.
Landivar & Associates updated the schedules weekly and reviewed all milestone activities for utility shutdowns and major deliveries during the construction meetings. The team also ensured that all the parties involved were aware of current activities and integrated any modification the owner requested. The group also worked closely with the facility’s management teams to limit any inconvenience to the adjacent tenants in the building and to reduce any rescheduling.
Landivar & Associates also ensured all materials and overall labor were in strict compliance with the constructions documents, specifications and approved submittals. Weekly visits were conducted and owner representatives, architects, engineers and the superintendent walked the space together during these visits where they discussed field specific issues, deficiencies, and all corrective action that was required.
